The Lehendakari meets the Japanese Ambassador
The Lehendakari, the Basque Premier, today welcome the Japanese Ambassador to Spain, Satoru Satoh. The meeting took place at the Lehendakaritza, the Basque Premier's Office, and the Director for Foreign Relations, Ainhoa Alday, was also present.
The Lehendakari and the Ambassador took the opportunity to go over the existing relations between the Basque Country and Japan. The Ambassador thanked the Basque Country for its support after the earthquake that hit his country and outlined for the Lehendakari how the recovery and reconstruction work was progressing.
They also discussed the common strategic lines between the two territories, such as renewable energies and the electric vehicle, to intensify possible partnership channels.
Finally, Satoruh Satoh explained and requested support for the events to be organised to mark the Year of Japan in Spain that will begin in June next year.
