The foreign policy of the Basque Government prioritises the internationalisation of companies
A Mondragón Corporación report reveals that multi-location companies have generated 26% more employment
Basque companies have improved their presence on the preferential markets that they visited in the trade missions led by the Lehendakari over the last three years. Bernabé Unda and Guillermo Echenique today took stock of the foreign trade missions of the Basque Government, one day before the Basque delegation sets off on the mission to India. The objective is to oversee different development cooperation projects and to look for new business opportunities for Basque companies.
Unda recalled that the Basque Country had beaten the export record in 2011, with 21,000 million euros. This means that exports are 123% up on imports.
Another noteworthy figure concerns multi-location companies, which have generated 26% more employment.
Echenique stressed that the four objectives of the forthcoming mission of the Lehendakari to India are in the development cooperation, cultural, institutional and economic-business areas.
